As gigging Artists, you may be exposed to Coronavirus at a show.
These are our tips for you:
WASH YOUR HANDS
If you touch a contaminated surface, your hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. That’s why the biggest tip that we have for you is to practice good hygiene. Wash your hands regularly. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze and throw tissues in the bin immediately. Stay vigilant and conscious of what surfaces you touch – at the bar grabbing a drink, in public toilets, sitting at a table – wash your hands. Keep Disinfectant Wipes with you in your Gig Kits. Don’t let anyone else sing in your microphone. Wipe down your instruments, leads and gear after each show.
CANCEL YOUR SHOW IF YOU FEEL UNWELL
If you feel unwell, call us to cancel your gig. Don’t do a show and expose the public to this virus. Many people who get mild cases of the flu or Coronavirus will get better without the need for medical assistance, simply by resting at home. Stay home until you feel better and your symptoms pass. If you are concerned that you are not getting better and want to see a GP, call your local medical centre.
FOCUS ON YOUR WELLNESS PRACTICES
WHO have advised that large doses of Vitamin C has been instrumental in the fight against this virus. Focus on practices that help boost and protect your immune system.. Perhaps increase your exercise regime to regulate your nervous system and increase your oxygen levels. Cut out sugar. Eat clean and green. Sit in the sun each morning to boost your Vitamin D.

Colloidal silver is a water solution containing nanometer sized particles of suspended silver. The silver particles are so small that normal filtering processes cannot remove them. It is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that may be able to fight and kill pathogens that make us sick. My grandmother took it when she was a child. It was an old remedy for the flu and common cold.
Loaded with vitamin C, which is known to support the body’s immune system and it alkalises the body. Is reported to decrease the strength of the cold and flu virus in the body and reduce phlegm.
Garlic is great at treating sore throats and infections. Garlic contains the immune-boosting compound allicin, also known to relieve cold and flu symptoms. I find that if I eat a whole clove – yes it takes like shit – but it works faster and I feel better sooner.
Cinnamon is known as a natural antibiotic, is a powerful antioxidant. Have it in your tea or on your cereal.
Contains an anti-inflammatory compound called curcumin, which has strong cold and flu fighting properties. Turmeric has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Add heaps to a curry. Sweat it out.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar can fight off infection, reduce inflammation, kill fungus, regulate pH balance, and wash toxins from the body. It’s also known to restore alkaline acid balance.
ORANGE AND GINGER BATH SOUP
Dr Chau, my family doctor for many years, gave this remedy to me and I’ve used it successfully. Boil 6 whole oranges with one big stick of ginger. Add to boiling hot bath. Sit in it for as long as you can. It stings so don’t touch your eyes.
Clove oil can work wonders in boosting your immunity. For its high anti-inflammatory properties, clove oil can come handy during times of sore throat, cough, cold and sinusitis. Consuming the excellent expectorant clove oil can not only clear the nasal passage and gives you respite from respiratory problems but it also has a cooling effect on nasal cavity and throat. Add three to 10 drops of oil to a glass of water twice a day and continue until symptoms subside. Or put the oil directly under your tongue and hold for 60 seconds.
Back in the time of the Black Death (also known as bubonic plague) Thieves that rifled through dead bodies stumbled across a formula that protected them from the plaque. I have made my own since I was in New York during the Ebola breakout in 2014. Google to find the recipe. Its easy and the ingredients can be found at any chemist.
